What is WP List Mailer?

So, what really is WP List Mailer ?

WP List Mailer is an advanced business plugin for WordPress.  WP List Mailer is based on the safelist marketing concept but pushed further. Our main idea is to offer an easy way for everyone willing to quickly add a revenue stream to any type of WordPress blog by creating a list mailer/safelist type of site. WP List Mailer will provide a main or additional income source once installed and configured.

It will work by charging a fee that YOU will set for membership levels that YOU will determine and configure. And above that will help you further build you list using the built in affiliate system(1 level only for now, will be updated in upcoming months).

You can add the plugin to almost any existing blog(there are a few limitations based on what other plugins are using, more on this at the end of this page ), set it up  and start promoting your new service in a very short time. You could also create a new site from the ground up around WP List Mailer and set it up to work like a traditional safelist, much easier that setting up a script. And because we use WordPress, this will allow to create much more flexible sites, both in aspect and in features.

What is a safelist? – Is basically a community of Internet marketers who have joined to profit from one another by mutually exchanging marketing messages. – Internet Marketing Dictionary

A safelist is an email list you can join for free, and in return you are allowed to email to the list of members that join. Usually safelists have different levels of memberships and each different level will allow you to email more members and/or more often.

Our business model for WP List Mailer is geared towards a long time business rather than a quick profit run. We are building the business around the concept of ever-evolving solution. In other words, while we start with a basic offering, even if extremely powerful, we will make it much more so by constantly developing it!

We will do this by updating constantly the core plugin – the WP List Mailer one AND correlating with future WordPress updates  as well as with our planned improvements and client requests! Yes, YOU as a client will be able to influence the features we will add to the core build AND extra features that will be released as WP List Mailer ADDON Plugins

Our programming team is already working at first updates and we will schedule new ones periodically.  We have planned a -more or less- monthly schedule for the core updates (we cannot predict all possible problems so we will handle the updates as required but we will try to keep the monthly schedule); and monthly add on plugin launches!

WP List Mailer Requirements and Limitations

WP List Mailer does not have many specific requirements considering the many features implemented in it. It was tested and it will work on shared hosting and up. However it should be NOT used on shared hosting on anything but lightest use (newsletter-like set up, very light emailing, few members ). You also need at least 32Mb to use it and it will increase as members number go up.

- You need a linux based hosting/server – the more powerful the better . We have tested several hosting providers and the best suited for WP List Mailer of them is BigScoots . - If you already have installed a WP plugin that uses WP membership system – a membership, newsletter or other type – you will most likely get in trouble. Please disable these plugins before installing WP List Mailer. This is also referring to plugins that make heavy use of  java script.
- You will need to set up a cron on your server, we are providing instructions on how to do that
